Kitchen Refit with Structural Alterations in Abbotsley
Back in 2021 we completed a kitchen refit in Abbotsley, a village just outside St Neots, that went well beyond new units. This was a complete kitchen refit and remodel with structural alterations and a full reconfiguration of the space, so the finished kitchen worked in a way the original layout never could.
Reworking the structure for the new layout
The structural changes were the heart of this project. Reconfiguring the space meant changing the structure rather than simply fitting around it, which is work that has to be planned and supported correctly.
We carried out the alterations and the remodel together, so the new layout and the new kitchen were designed as one piece rather than one being squeezed into the other.
With the structure reworked, the kitchen refit itself could make full use of the reconfigured room, giving the owners a layout that suited how they actually used the space.
The finished kitchen in Abbotsley
The home in Abbotsley gained a completely refitted and reconfigured kitchen, built on structural alterations that opened up the possibilities for the room. Years on, it remains a solid example of how a kitchen refit combined with structural alterations can turn an awkward kitchen into one that works properly.
